Vacancy Description:
Robertshaw Ltd are a gas assembly manufacturer for Gas Cookers. Each Gas Cooker has a manifold on them which is welded together by steel brackets so that it supports the weight of the assembly when it goes into the cooker. You will learn how to use several welding techniques that use electricity to melt and join pieces of metal that form steel brackets to 30 different manifold tubes for industry-leading electric and gas cooking technologies. Throughout the apprenticeship, you will also learn how to read and follow Engineering drawing and instructions, check the size of materials and prepare them to be joined and dismantle and cut up metal. Abbreviations explained: MIG - Metal Insert Gas - MIG welding uses a continuously-fed electrode wire and shielding gas via a hand-held torch. TIG - Tungsten Insert Gas - TIG welding uses a consumable tungsten electrode with a shielding gas fed through a supply line and a separate, hand held filler rod that is manually fed into the weld pool
