Start your career the way you start your day - the Weetabix way! This is a 4 year apprenticeship and on completion of the programme you will achieve a Level 3 in Engineering (Mechatronics Maintenance Technician) qualification. For the highest performers there may be an additional progression route to undertake a Level 4 and HNC qualification. You will be working alongside experienced engineering teams within the Weetabix factories. Apprentices will deliver specialised mechanical and electrical maintenance and repairs. During the programme Weetabix will provide you with a varied and exciting experience working across several of their iconic brands with rotations though a number of their Burton Latimer and Corby-based factories. In particular, as as apprentice you will learn about: • Pressurised vessels used for cooking • Many different types of product conveyor systems • In line baking, automatic weighing systems • Vertical baggers • Automation wrapping systems • Product carton systems, case packers and palletisers All aspects of mechanical, hydraulic/pneumatic and electrical/electronic systems maintenance will be taught on-the-job, which runs alongside attendance at college.
