Vauxhall is part of the Stellantis Group which is one of the world’s leading automakers, home to 16 Automotive brands including; Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, Citroën, Dodge, DS, Fiat, Fiat Professional, Jeep, Lancia, Maserati, Mopar, Opel, Peugeot, Ram and Vauxhall itself. This role is based at the Vauxhall Motors Manufacturing Plant in Luton, UK. There are nearly 1,500 employee’s based at the site building light commercial vehicles (van) under the Citroën, Peugeot, Fiat, Opel and Vauxhall badges. It is a fast paced, high volume site working across 3 shifts and producing around 6,000 vans a week, for the end customer. Starting in September 2023, this is a four year advanced apprenticeship. As an Engineering Technician Apprentice, you will ensure that equipment is maintained to a standard necessary for the production of high value manufactured vehicles. Typically the work covers a broad range of activities including installation, testing, fault finding and the on-going maintenance of complex automated equipment. This requires the application of a blend of skills, knowledge and occupational behaviours across the electrical, electronic, mechanical, fluid power and control systems disciplines. Please note that this is not a mechanical role that involves working on or fixing cars/vans. This role is centred around maintaining the robotics and other equipment that is in place in the factory that enables us to manufacture the vehicle.
